Week 3 in Crested Butte

I was hoping to post some pictures--I even brought the camera cord to plug into the laptop--but it seems that the laptop is not recognizing the USB. Anyone else have a problem with Vista not recognizing a USB?

We spent this weekend in Crested Butte and it was almost like a vacation! On Saturday, we four-wheeled across the creek and watched an insane kayaking race (25 foot waterfalls, anyone?), then came home to the camper and took naps and watched movies. After 3 weeks of insanity, it was nice to relax. Sunday we went to the Gas Stop (Motto: Eat here, Get gas!) and ordered the Hurley: bacon, egg, english muffin, American cheese, with a hashbrown stuffed in the middle. Aaaaw yeah. Ben did a bike ride in the afternoon with a buddy from his class, and in the evening we took the kids on a short but gorgeous bike ride. It would have been a great weekend if I hadn't had an attitude. I always get jealous and cranky when Ben goes on a bike ride. I need to figure out a Bike Ride Action Plan (BRAP? How about BRAT.....Bike Ride Action Task!) so that I can stop ruining our weekends. =) (Thanks, Kelly, for the idea!)

News flash! Contrary to popular opinion, there really is an RV dump in Crested Butte! No more 30 minute drive to Gunnison every 3 days! No more poaching fresh water from the gas station!

Ben passed his class on Friday--wo-hoo! This week is the Wilderness EMT upgrade, which should be more relaxed and more interesting.

I can't believe we only have one week left--I am wring a to-do list so I don't forget to do these things:

--see the enormous elk at the Visitor's center

--take Nathaniel to the BMX track

--ride my bike through town (doing this today!)

--get a latte at Camp 4 Coffee

--eat at the Ginger cafe

--buy something at Lavish

--do school with Nathaniel in the afternoons.
